Love Story (2011)

In Brief: Florain Habitch, a New Zealand film maker, spots a woman, Masha Yakovenko, carrying a Cake at the train station near Cony Island. He goes to ask her out, and she challenges him. Take the train to the next stop, turn around and walk towards the current one, and if they meet, she'll spend the day with him. Only, this is part of a story, that Florain is directing. And he's not sure what direction to take it, so, he takes the question to the Streets of New York.

Watching this film, i was in two minds, How much of its set up, and how much of it is 'real'. It's a great idea for a movie, but there were points where i honestly had little to no interest in seeing Masha and Florain play out the scene, and instead, just hear the person on the streets idea for where the film should go. The people on the street are the stars of the film, and no matter how natural the films credited stars are, when they're in front of the camera, it's weaker for it.
Not to say that either do a bad job, They're suitable for what it is. But it does raise question at points to Florain becoming emotionally attracted to Masha (she is a pretty lady). Is it real, or is it just a part of the story, are they trying to make a story within the story?
There isn't much more to talk about. I wouldn't say to flush the film out, but if it's there, go see it.
