Love, Angels and Airwaves presents (2011)

In Breif : Lee Miller, is the first man to go into space in 20 something years, Shortly after going up, he looses contact with earth. Cue, Stir Crazy. Cue, Score by Angels and Airwaves.

The Breif probably doesn't do this film justice, but in general, didn't care for the film. And that's probably because at times it felt kinda abstract. Reminds me of a idea i read when looking up articles about 'The Fountain', where several reviewers questions if they could review it since they didn't 'get it'. But an Opinion is a Opinion, even if its not fully informed, and that can speak to the film aswell.

At times, I felt like Love was more of a experiment, to see if Tom DeLonge and co. could score a film. Much of the film is Lee by himself, interacting with the environment, and the technology around him, but to be honest, and its a unfair comparison since they're such different films with only a few similarities, but Moon did these sort of things far better. Maybe this is related to Gunner Wrights relative inexperience as a actor compared to someone like Sam Rockwell, but he lacks the range as well. I can't say i ever believed in Lee's loneliness, isolation and breakdown. Without those qualities coming across, the film falls a bit flat. (Probably also worthing mentioning, Moon had a budget of aronud $5 Million dollars, Love had a Budget of $.5 Million.)
But there are some interesting selling points in the film. At Several points during the film, we cut away to interviews with men, who talk about love, solitude and companionship. These, for me, are the standout points in the film. But, there's just not enough of them.

I don't recommend going out of your way to see this film, If you've got a spare hour and a half to kill, and its showing near you, sure, or you're looking for something to rent, maybe.
