Zero Dark Thirty (2012), Amour (2012)

Zero Dark Thirty, in Brief:
CIA operative, codenamed "Maya"(Jessica Chastain) embarks on a 10 year journey to investigate and capture Osama Bin Laden, through many means.

Amour, in Brief:
George(Jean-Louis Trintignant) and Anne(Emmanuelle Riva), two retired music teachers, living in Paris, seperated from they're married daughter. One day, after following a concert, Anne displays signs that distress George, and soon, she has a stroke. After returning home, Anne makes Geogre promis her that he'll never let her go back to the hospital.

Keep this brief, cause i lost track of time between staring this and finishing it.

Zero Dark Thirty:

This film covers a massive journey for the character Maya, and the spread of the film can sometime feel a bit thin, jumping years between events at time (although i might have been distracted by the jackass checking his text messages 2 rows in front of me to notice all the time frames). That said, Kathryn Bigelow's drama is constantly hurting towards that conclusion that we know is coming.
The performances all around are exemplary, and it's hard to believe that it didn't net more in the nominations fields, with Jessica Chastain delivery one of her trademark power house performances. The Supporting cast keep the standard she sets. There's rarely a scene that she's not in until the mission is launched, so the story really rests on her shoulders.

Amour :
Even shorter this time, Bring Tissues and a Stress ball, because Jean-Louis TrintignantEmmanuelle Riva and  Michael Haneke are going to make you feel some things, and they're not all going to be pleasant, but they will be memorable.
